Action King Arjun's Jai Hind 2 - A tribute to Abdul Kalam

Action King Arjun’s patriotic action drama, Jai Hind, released in 1994 and tasted tremendous success, offering all-round commercial entertainment. The actor who has over 10 films under his belt as director has decided that the time is right to revive the film with its sequel.

Arjun has announced that he will be directing and producing 'Arjunin Jai Hind 2' under his home banner Sriram Films International. He feels that the current social scenario has driven him to write the story for Jai Hind 2, which he also says will not carry any resemblance to the first part.

Arjun’s love interest in Moondru Per Moondru Kaadhal, Surveen Chawla, will play his partner in this film as well. The project will also introduce several youngsters and the core concept is based on former President Abdul Kalam’s vision of the country and will  be a tribute to the people's President.

The movie will have dialogues by Gopi Krishna, associate direction by Jagan, editing by KK and cinematography by Venu. Besides plans are onto rope in technicians from abroad and the budget for this Tamil, Telugu, Kannada trilingual will be 20 crores.

Superstar Rajini is a show-stealer wherever he goes. The crowd just erupts at the sign of the man, and each gesture, wave and smile from him are greeted with thunderous applause. Yesterday's mammoth I audio launch function was no exception.

 

But the biggest superstar in Asia, was apparently overwhelmed by what he saw of I yesterday, through Vikram's performance on stage as a beast, the mind-blowing teaser, the making video and the performances of all the songs. When his turn to speak came up, Rajini was as honest and real as possible and expressed his admiration for the entire team, specially Vikram, Shankar and Rahman.

 

"This event does not look like an audio launch. It looks like a silver jubilee function of the film. The teaser makes me eager to watch the film. Shankar has taken a higher step with I and am sure he will touch another peak in his next film. He has taken Tamil Cinema to Hollywood standards right before our eyes"

 

Rajini also shared a chuckle-worthy story about A.R.Rahman and Shankar

 

"Rahman used to go to his mom and cry telling that Shankar is never satisfied with his music. His mother also asked Shankar why he was troubling his son. Shankar is that particular about what he wants."

 

The Superstar then turned to Vikram, who was sitting right beside him.

 

"I haven't seen any actor who has sacrificed so much for acting. I say hats off to your work, as a senior actor. This combination has to do more movies."

இயக்குநர் ஷங்கரின் படத்தில் நடிக்க ஆசைப்படுவதாக ‘ஐ’ திரைப்பட இசை வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் பிரபல ஹாலிவுட் நடிகர் அர்னால்டு பேசினார்.

விக்ரம், எமி ஜாக்சன் நடிப்பில் ஷங்கர் இயக்கியுள்ள ‘ஐ’ திரைப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா நேற்று சென்னை நேரு உள்விளையாட்டு அரங்கில் நடை பெற்றது. ஐ படத்தின் இசைத்தட்டை ரஜினிகாந்த் வெளியிட புனித் ராஜ்குமார் பெற்றுக்கொண்டார். இந்த இசை வெளியீட்டு விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினராக ஹாலிவுட் நடிகரும், கலிபோர்னியாவின் முன்னாள் ஆளுநருமான அர்னால்டு கலந்து கொண்டார். மேலும் நிகழ்ச்சியில் இயக்குநர் ஷங்கர், நடிகர் விக்ரம், இசை அமைப் பாளர் ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான்,, இயக்குநர் விஜய், அமலாபால், அனிருத், ராய்லஷ்மி உள்ளிட்ட திரையுலகினர் கலந்து கொண்டனர்.

என்னோட வெற்றிக்கு காரணம் ரசிகர்கள்தான். அதேபோல பல ரசிகர்களின் ஆதரவோடு வெற்றி சாதனைகளை புரிந்துள்ள இந்திய சினிமா நட்சத்தி ரங்களோடு இந்த மேடையில் இணைந் திருப்பதை மகிழ்ச்சியாக கருதுகிறேன். ஷங்கர் அற்புதமான இயக்குநர். நிறைய பாடி பில்டர்கள் இங்கே நடித்துள்ளனர். ஷங்கர் வாய்ப்பு கொடுத்திருப்பதாக கேள்விப்பட்டேன். மகிழ்ச்சி. நானும் பாடி பில்டராக வந்து பிற்காலத்தில் நடிகனாக வந்தவன் என்பது பெருமை அளிக்கிறது. எனினும், வாய்ப்பு தேடி வந்துள்ளேன். என்னை வைத்து எப்போது படம் எடுக்கப்போகிறீர்கள். என்னை ஏன் ஷங்கர் நடிக்க அழைக்கவில்லை என்று தெரியவில்லை. ஷங்கரின் அடுத்த படத்தில் நடிக்க ஆசைப்படுகிறேன். சென்னை அற்புதமான இடம். இதற்கு முன் இந்தியா வந்தாலும் சென்னைக்கு வந்தது இதுதான் முதல் முறை. தொடர்ந்து இங்கு வர நான் விரும்புகிறேன்.

இவ்வாறு பேசிய அர்னால்ட் இசை வெளியீட்டு நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு முன்பாகவே அரங்கில் இருந்து கிளம்பினார்.

பின்னர் புனித் ராஜ்குமார் பேசும்போது, ‘‘ரஜினி இருக்கும் மேடையில் நான் இருப்பதை பற்றி விவரிக்க வார்த் தைகளே இல்லை’’ என்றார்.

அனிருத் கூறும்போது ‘‘ ஷங்கரின் ‘ஐ’ படத்தில் ஒரு பாடலை பாடியிருப்பதை பெருமையாக நினைக்கிறேன்’’ என்றார்.

விக்ரம் பேசுகையில், ‘‘ஒவ்வொரு காட்சிக் கும் தினமும் 4 மணி நேரம் மேக்கப் போடவே நேரம் ஆகும். காட்சிகள் சிறப்பாக வரவேண்டும் என்பதில் ஷங்கர் அப்படி கவனமாக இருப்பார்’’ என்றார்.

ஏ.ஆர்.ரஹ்மான் பேசும்போது, ‘‘ஷங்கருடன் இணைந்து 20 ஆண்டுகள் ஓடியதே தெரிய வில்லை. இந்தப்படத்துக்கு ஏதாவது புதிதாக செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று திட்டமிட்டு செய்திருக்கிறோம்’’ என்றார்.

Vikram was confirmed to play the lead role First, it was reported that Asin, would play the lead. Deepika Padukone, though reported, denied her association with film and Priyanka Chopra was also rumored for the same. Initially, Samantha Ruth Prabhu signed on, but the actress was forced to opt out as she was unable to allot larger number of dates that were required for the film. Further she clarified being busy for her Telugu film outings. Amy Jackson was then signed on to play a village girl in the film. Jackson was paid 7.5 million (US$120,000) for her participation in the film. Santhanam was also selected to be a part of this film. Malayalam star Suresh Gopi was selected playing the role of a doctor. Ramkumar Ganesan is enacting a major role in the film. Actor Srinivasan was chosen to play a significant role in the film. Bollywood actor Upen Patel was added to the cast, therefore making his debut in Tamil cinema through this film. Jiiva was considered for playing the antagonist, but was unable to accept the offer due to his prior commitments. He was actually hesitant on playing such a character, as his antagonistic performance in Singam Puli (2011) received mixed response. It was reported that American actor Arnold Schwarzeneggar was cast as an award presenter for a brief scene, but Ravichandran denied the news as a baseless rumor, but said that he would definitely grace the audio launch of the film, further saying that Vikram took some weight loss and gain tips from Arnold as well. Make-up artist in real life, Ojas M. Rajani was reported to play the role of a gay make-up artiste in the film. Mr. Asia 2014 Syed Siddiq confirmed that he would feature in a few fight sequences with Vikram.
